Is the worst over?
The failure of the Dunfermline Building Society in March has shown that there is still a long way to go before we reach financial stability in the UK. The government has taken on board the "toxic debt" (who comes up with all these names?!) with the profitable pieces of the business being sold to Nationwide.
There is no doubt that more defaulting institutions will come to light over the next six months and so you should always remember the £50,000 protection limit on savings held, because you never know who can be next.
